  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very rare model of bayonet, found in many different variations due to their crude construction. These all-metal bayonets are believed to have been produced in Belgium following the First World War for export to the Republic of China and to Bolivia. The blade is unmarked, so it is unclear whether it was salvaged from an earlier socket bayonet or newly manufactured in the 1920s, when this bayonet was assembled.

This example shows heavy oxidation and the ersatz handle is painted black, with heavy wear to the paint and finish. The bayonet button still functions well. The blade measures 16 1/2” and the overall length is 21 5/8”. From what information we can find, the black paint is original to the period, and is normally nearly gone on most examples.

The ersatz type scabbard is triangular sheet metal with a very crude belt hook, a great detail. It measures 17 1/2” and is in good shape with the same black paint as found on the hilt.

A very rare example, ready for display.
