  • Original Item. Only One Available. The Harley-Davidson WLA is a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was produced to US Army specifications during and around World War II. Harley-Davison would also produce a model for the Canadian Army, which was designed WLC. The WLCs differed from WLAs chiefly in the use of some heavier components, usually Big Twin parts, as well as Canadian blackout lighting. Most WLCs were produced in 1942 and 1943 and are marked 42WLC or 43WLC. Harley-Davidson would also produce a close WLA variant for the UK, South Africa, and other allies, as well as filling orders for different models from the Navy and Marine Corps.

This is an excellent and extremely rare piece of WWII vehicle equipment, the Blackout Equipment box for a Canadian Harley-Davidson WLC model. The box retains the original paint and is painted to the front:

    BLACKOUT
    EQUIPMENT
    FOR
    HARLEY—DAVIDSON
    “45” CU. IN. WLC-MODEL

The latch still works great and the box measures 7 ¾ x 4 x 7 ⅝” when closed.

None of the original components are inside, but there was a nice small model of the bike made by Maisto, which shows the blackout equipment box on the left side of the front wheel. A great display opportunity!

    Ready for display.
