Original Item. Only One Available. This is a scarce Bulgarian 40/106mm RTB-7MA round with GTB-7MA thermobaric grenade, presented as an inert and deactivated display example in its original opened plastic packaging. The assembly retains its inert grenade body, AF76 fuze, shaft section, lower protective cap, and plastic fuze cover. The separate tail and starting booster assembly normally protected by the green cardboard tube is not included.
This round is totally inert and has been deactivated in accordance with current ATF guidelines. It contains no explosive material, cannot be converted into an explosive device, and is not available for export.
The RTB-7MA was developed in Bulgaria as an improved and modernized thermobaric round for use with RPG-7V and compatible 40mm recoilless launching systems. The 40/106mm designation refers to the launcher caliber and the maximum diameter of the over-caliber grenade body.
The complete service round consists of the GTB-7MA thermobaric grenade and its propulsion components. It was designed for use against personnel in the open or within field shelters, battlefield fortifications, reinforced buildings, stone, brick, or concrete structures, as well as light armored and unarmored vehicles.
This inert example consists of the grenade, fuze, and attached shaft section. It does not include the separate tail and starting booster assembly ordinarily contained within the green cardboard protective tube.
The body is stamped:
RTB-7MA
((10)) - 01 - 12
INERT
And on the shaft with ((10)) - 03 - 12. The fuze is stamped AF 76 ((10)) under INERT. This denotes it as a Point Detonating Fuse AF76 with super quick and graze (anti-ricochet) function. The fuze fitted to this example has been rendered completely inert. A small plastic cone remains fitted over the fuze to protect it during transportation and storage. The lower protective cap is also retained at the end of the shaft.
The 12 date elements indicate manufacture or assembly during 2012. The differing month codes suggest that the marked components were produced or inspected at separate stages before final assembly.
The entire round comes in its original plastic bag, which is cut open. The round measures roughly 29 ¾” long with all pieces.
Because the tail and starting booster assembly is missing, this is not a complete service configuration. The surviving grenade, fuze, shaft, protective components, and packaging nevertheless provide a detailed representation of Bulgarian post-Cold War RPG-7 ammunition development.
The clear markings establish the model, factory association, inert status, and production period of the principal components. Its unissued condition, retained protective caps, and original opened packaging make it particularly relevant to a collection focused on Bulgarian ordnance, RPG-7 ammunition development, or modern thermobaric weapon systems.
