Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is an exceptionally interesting Bulgarian-manufactured Cold War inert PG-7M round for the Soviet-designed RPG-7 system, assembled as an instructional or display piece with a black-painted inert warhead section, separately cutaway tail/propulsion assembly, and a PG-7P propelling charge retained in its original green storage tube. The components carry extensive 1983-1985 production and lot markings, while the warhead is prominently factory-style stenciled INERT.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are NOT considered NFA weapons. The shaft retains great markings, and comes with a Bulgarian tail assembly which is designed as a cutaway, with 1/4th of the assembly removed to show its interior workings. The tail assembly can be partially screwed into the rocket, but stops because of a bent washer attached to the threading of the rocket.

The cutaway charge will make for a great display. These could be displayed together or apart. The outer green tube for the charge measures 12 ⅛”.

The combination of an inert black PG-7M body, separately sectioned tail assembly, extensively marked motor components, and preserved PG-7P charge makes this a particularly effective instructional display of the construction of an RPG-7 projectile system.

The RPG-7 itself was developed in the Soviet Union and entered service during the early 1960s, after which the design and its ammunition were produced throughout the Warsaw Pact and by numerous allied states.

Condition overall is very good for an inert instructional ordnance assemblage. The black inert warhead retains its markings, the shaft retains substantial original stenciling, the cutaway rear assembly clearly exposes its internal construction, and the 1983-dated PG-7P charge remains with its green storage tube. The principal mechanical issue is the bent washer at the threaded connection, which prevents the rear assembly from fully seating with the main projectile.

With its PG-7M and INERT markings, 1984-1985 component dates, Bulgarian RNDSI-5K and ZV-7G markings, sectioned instructional tail assembly, 1983-dated Bulgarian PG-7P charge with encircled 10 factory marking, and original green storage tube, this is an unusually complete Cold War RPG-7 instructional display set with excellent technical and collector interest.
