Original Item. Only One Available. This is a tremendous & scarce set of Special Air Service (SAS) Camouflage Windproof Trousers. These pants are also called "brushstroke camouflage" by collectors, but they are identical. The SAS is a historical unit that is still active as a special forces unit in the British Army, and at the time of WWII was active in sabotage, airborne operations, assault operations using vehicles, etc. The camouflage for them was used in these pants. After WWII, these pants were used by French paratroopers in the Indochina War, and are also famous for their camouflage. In the Indochina War, the same fabric was used to make paratrooper pants, and the smock was modified with a zipper to make it easier to put on and take off, and it was also used until the 1950s.
This set is in a very large Size No. 6. The trousers retain the original tag:

C.W.S. LTD.
(BROAD ARROW)
DATE 12 1944
This denotes a date of December 1944. They are in unissued New Old Stock condition but do have some loose threads here and there but nothing alarming. The pocket is retained along with the button. The tie straps are retained and work as designed.
The combination of the December 1944 date, C.W.S. Ltd. manufacturer, Broad Arrow acceptance mark, uncommon Size No. 6, intact pocket and tie straps, and completely unissued condition makes this a particularly strong example of late-war British camouflage windproof clothing. Its condition and size make it especially suitable for study or display in a collection focused on the SAS, British airborne forces, or the development of postwar camouflage uniforms.
