  • Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a tremendous unnamed uniform worn by an American pilot officer flying with the Royal Air Force during the early years of World War II. The jacket has VR collar insignia for the Volunteer Reserve, with U.S.A. rockers on each shoulder, denoting that he was an American volunteer.

The jacket has cuff ranks for Pilot Officer, one of the lowest officer ranks in the RAF. Above the left breast pocket is a 2-spot ribbon bar with the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Distinguished Flying Medal, denoting that this volunteer certainly saw heavy combat serving with the British. Above this is a lovely sewn set of RAF Pilot’s wings.

The jacket retains its integral belt and buckle. There is no name in the jacket that we could find.

A great jacket to an American volunteer, ready for further research and display.
