  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is one of the rarest most sought after versions of the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knives. This tremendous private purchase example was manufactured by J. Clarke & Son of Sheffield in 1942, and has a gorgeous blued blade. This example is also free of the “England” import markings, rare to see. The knife comes with a correct leather belt sheath, which retains the tongue & elastic band.

Condition of the knife is very good, still with a sharp edge, with roughly 90% of the original “rainbow” bluing retained. The condition of the blade does not indicate it was used much at all. Interestingly, the crosshatching pattern on the handle appears to have been applied twice. The crossguard is still firm on the blade, and is marked on the top with:

    1942
    J. CLARKE & SON
    SHEFFIELD
    (BROAD ARROW)

The leather sheath is in fair condition with the elastic retaining strap still intact, and the leather of the tongue is in great shape as well. The drag shows a bit of movement but is still well-attached.

This is a fantastic example of one of the most scarce patterns of F/S knives, the 2nd Pattern Clarke. Comes ready for further research and display!

    Approximate Dimensions:
