  • Original Item: Only One Available. A swagger stick is a short stick or riding crop usually carried by a uniformed person as a symbol of authority. A swagger stick is shorter than a staff or cane, and is usually made from rattan. Its use derives from the vine staff carried by Roman centurions as an emblem of office.

Legality: NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT OR TO RESIDENTS OF CA, AR, NY, NJ AND OTHER STATES. These are considered concealed weapons and many states have laws relating to these dating back to the 19th century.

This example was certainly carried by an RAF officer during World War II, due to the Royal Air Force eagle badge attached to the heavy brass handle. This example measures 26½” overall and has a great 10” tapered & unscrewable “spike” blade. The handle also has two small beads that allow the stick to “lock” into place when sheathed.

The handle is rather heavy and this stick was certainly more so meant to poke at subordinates and bark orders than as a cane.

A tremendous swagger stick, ready for further research and display.
