Original British WWII RAF Type C Named Leather Flying Helmet with Mk VIII Goggles

Item Description

Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a wonderful World War Two Royal Air Force brown leather chamois-lined flying helmet with elastic snap chinstrap. This fine example comes with front goggle straps and features an elastic chinstrap and a built in clip on the right side to accommodate the oxygen mask attachment hook.
Overall condition is nice, though it does show wear from use and age, especially on the interior. The elastic in the chin strap still works. There are markings in the left ear interior, where it is also marked with the name AVERY, most likely the last name of the pilot who wore it. Exterior leather is in good service worn condition. It also bears the markings :REF No. ??c/880. Part of the reference number is obscured and cannot be read. It also has the Broad Arrow stamp.
The goggles are classic MkVIII goggles featuring leather construction with steel eye brackets encasing laminated glass lenses. The left glass is unclear and it appears it had some moisture in it and is now darker in appearance and not clear like the other one. They still have the classic cotton securing strap. These goggles appear to be a private purchase, and are much easier to adjust than the official issue.
Overall a fantastic authentic WWII Royal Air Force pilot flying set offered in very good  condition!
