  • Original Items: One-of-a-Kind. This is a wonderful World War Two Royal Air Force brown leather chamois-lined flying helmet with elastic snap chinstrap. This fine example comes with a set of Mk. VIII goggles as well as a U.S. Type A-10A oxygen mask by Acushnet. The helmet is named on the interior to a “Capt. Brownlow”.

    This Wonderful Set Consists of:

    - WWII British RAF Type C leather flying helmet with replaced U.S. headphones. Named to a Capt. Brownlow. The avionics have been replaced with American ANB-H-1 headphones by Western Electric, and they are somewhat forced into the ears. The plug is retained, marked PL-354. This helmet may be named to Captain William G. Brownlow III of Knoxville, Tennessee. He flew as Operations Officer & Co-pilot aboard a Flying Fortress out of England.

    - WWII British Mk VIII Goggles in good condition with heavy wear to the interior. The eyepieces are both in great shape and the straps are still very pliable. A great set of goggles. Marked Mk VIII between the eyes.

    - Original U.S. Type A-10A oxygen mask by Acushnet, Air Force 1942 order code. Some crazing in the rubber but a good representative example. It is correctly set up to connect to this model of flight helmet.

A lovely flying helmet set ready for further research and display!
