Original British WWII Pair of Mills Bomb No. 36M MKI Training Cutaway Grenades Dated 1943 - Inert

Original Items: Only One Lot of Two Available. This is a very nice BATF approved totally pair of inert No. 36M MkI Grenades, partly cutaway for training. This type was known as the "Mesopotamian" variant due to its shellac-coating which was designed to keep moisture and humidity out of the detonator's fuse. The No. 36M was the British army's standard hand-grenade during WWII, and long afterwards. The pair are both WWII manufacture, with the larger of the two being dated 1943 on the bottom.
The first example was fully cleaned and turned into a training aid, cut through from top to bottom, removing a small 1/4th size slice. The entire internal structure is still visible, including the spring plunger portion of the fuse. It is totally inert, cannot be converted to an explosive device.
The bottom plug was not cut through, and reads No. 36M MkI, with a 43 date on the other side. The hole is correctly threaded for the attachment of a base plate, which would allow it to be used with a rifle mounted grenade discharger. A great display piece from WWII!
The second example is much smaller, only half of the grenade, and does not retain the bottom plug. The internal tube is removable and slides into the threads well.
