Original Items. Only One Set Available. Ammunition boots are a family of military footwear originating from the United Kingdom. They were the standard combat boot for the British Army and other affiliated forces around the British Empire and Commonwealth from at least the mid-1860s until their replacement a century later in the 1960s with the Boot, Direct Moulded Sole, essentially Ammunition boots with direct moulded soles which were ultimately replaced by the Boot, Combat High in the mid-1980s.
This is an excellent WWII set of “Ammo” boots in Size 8, with their original leather shoelaces. The boots are stamped on the bottom of both:
8
S
10
This likely denotes the size as 8. The side of each throat of the shoe with:
W (BROAD ARROW) D
242
This denotes a date of 1942. Both boots retain their hobnails and toe plates, each with 4 screws despite there being 5 holes.
A very rare set of boots, ready for display.
