Original Item. Only One Available. Totally inert per guidelines provided by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) this is a very nice example of an Inert Round for the British British Ordnance SBML Two-Inch Mortar. The propellant and explosive charge have been removed and the fuse deactivated, making this totally inert, and unable to be converted into an explosive device. NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.
This example is in fair condition with a green painted body with a red band, which appears to denote a High Explosive payload. The only markings to be found are on one of the tail fins: R-9-43-MK I-Z. This likely denotes a manufacture date of September 1943.
The bottom cap unscrews and a small green piece of wood comes out. There is no fuze on this example and the top of the round itself does not come off. The round measures 9 ⅜” long. The tail assembly does not currently unscrew.
Ready for display.
