Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. The V-1 flying bomb was an early cruise missile. Its official Reich Aviation Ministry (RLM) designation was Fieseler Fi 103 and its suggestive name was Höllenhund (hellhound). It was also known to the Allies as the buzz bomb or doodlebug. The V-1 was the first of the Vergeltungswaffen (V-weapons) deployed for the terror bombing of London. Due to its limited range, the thousands of V-1 missiles launched into England were fired from launch facilities along the French (Pas-de-Calais) and Dutch coasts or by modified He 111 aircraft.
Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.
This is a gorgeous piece of trench art made from brass British shells during World War II. It consists of a shell base turned into a piggy bank, with a large slot on the top and two screws holding on a removable plate on the side for removal of the coins. The shell is dated 1943 with some broad arrow marks.
There is a brass pole coming from the top of the shell, with a gorgeous hand-made V1 “Buzz Bomb” sitting atop it. The bomb is removable, and is a really great piece of craftsmanship.
A fantastic piece of trench art featuring a gorgeous V1 Flying Rocket. Comes ready for further research and display.
