Original Item: Genuine WW2 Dated British P-1944 Gas mask complete with two British unissued filters and wartime dated carry bag. These sets were given to all ground forces for the Normandy landings. However, the masks were soon discarded and the Carry Bags utilized as Ammo Carriers. Mask and carry bag bear British markings and WWII dates! Filters also bear British Markings and dates but are of post war manufacture.
We found a stash in Denmark that had been issued to the fire department but never used. Not only do you get the Original WW2 marked mask with carrier but you get two operational filters as well.
The threatened use of poison gas in WW2 never became a reality; however Gas Masks were standard issue for both Allies and Axis Forces. More often than not the carriers were used for other purposes and the masks long discarded which makes them hard to find today.
