  • Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a lovely British Army Officer's Dress Peaked Visor Cap, intended for a Lieutenant General or Major General rank. It has the correct double row of gilt raised bullion oak leaves across the peak. Higher ranks would have a double row of bullion oak leaves, while lower ranks would have just a bullion band. Dating from WWII, the size is roughly a 7½, rather large.

The front has the correct Lion over a Queens's Crown over a wreathed sword embroidered bullion badge with red felt for the crown. The interior features a sweatband reading Real Roan Leather. There is a maker’s label in the crown reading:

    BY APPOINTMENT
    HATTERS
    TO H.M. THE KING

    NUNQUAM NON PARATUS
    HERBERT JOHNSON
    (BOND STREET) LTD.
    38
    NEW BOND ST.
    LONDON,
    W.

The cap is in outstanding condition with the leather chinstrap held in by two gilt General buttons, depicting a crossed sword and baton surrounded by laurels. The underside of the sweatband is inscribed 798 W / VIOLET.

    Comes ready for display.
