Original British WWI WWII Officer Grouping - Lieutenant Albert Harris

Item Description

Original Items: One-of-a-kind grouping. This is a very interesting collection of one officer's ephemera encompassing both World War One and World War Two. Lieutenant Harris was commissioned in March 27th, 1918 as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Essex Regiment. He was released on August 30th, 1920 as a full Lieutenant.

In World War Two he was recalled as a Lieutenant in the 10th Battalion of the Hertfordshire

Home Guard, and saw service until the war ended in 1945.

The grouping consists of:

• Original printed Officer's Commission in his name bearing signature stamping of "GEORGE R.I." King George Vth, King and Emperor dated April 15th, 1918.
• Official discharge letter from the WAR OFFICE dated August 30th, 1920.
• A studio photograph of officer Harris in his Great War uniform in original carrier.
• His WWII NATIONAL REGISTRATION IDENTITY CARD .
• A large framed 18" X 20" glazed photograph of Lieutenant Harris surrounded by his entire WW2 command; No.5 Platoon, 23rd. Company, 10th Hertfordshire Battalion of the HOME GUARD.
• A framed glazed document dedicated to Harris thanking and confirming his service to King and Country from May 14th, 1940 until December 31st ,1944.

All in all a very nice scarce set of an officer’s military service in both World War One and

World War Two with plenty of additional research potential.
