Original British WWI Royal Navy Officer’s Wolseley Pattern Pith Helmet with Alloy Top Spike

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a high class item, made by a London based firm as an OFFICER'S Special Order, probably for the Desert Campaign in World War One. Both the liner sweatband and the helmet interior have no clear maker marks. There is also a size marking of 6 ⅜ on the sweatband.
The removable chinstrap is unfortunately absent, but the hooks still are, so a replica could easily be added. With the stains on the canvas covered brow, this really looks the business. These helmets were often doused with water to provide cooling. It has a full puggaree with black line border, if only it could talk of its time in the Desert. Ready to Display!
