Original Item: Only One Available. Another item straight out of the attic! A genuine British World War One officer's peaked hat complete with the original leather chin strap and leather hat band with maker's name stamped into the leather.
The original cloth hat lining bears the retailer's label of:
C.S.SOUTHCOTT, LEEDS The brass hat badge is that of the ROYAL ENGINEERS in a scroll under a laurel leaf garland enclosing the Royal Cypher of "G.R." surrounded by a belt embossed "HONI SOIT QUI MALYN PENSE", translating from Latin to English as; "Evil to him who evil thinks", and beneath a "Kings Crown" to top.
Original cloth covered visor cap, chinstrap secured by correct general service buttons. Offered in nice original condition but showing issue and storage wear.
