Original Items: One-of-a-kind grouping. This is a true time capsule. This genuine World War One nurse’s grouping belonged to Gertrude Bate of the south Manchester hospital.
This exceptional grouping consists of the following:

A truly exceptional 70+ double sided page Autographs book, containing diary entries, letters, poems, drawings, sketches, and cartoons put into the book by many of her patients after returning wounded from the western front. Many of the pages are signed and dated by the people who filled the book, and many of the drawings demonstrate a very high level of skill. This book really opens a window into the dreadful period that was World War One. Dated pages range from 1915-1919.

A bible of belonging to her then finance CORPORAL ARTHUR LEONARD CASS of the 1st BUFFS (EAST KENT REGIMENT) who served in the Great War. Happily the couple were later married at war's end on September 7th, 1919
