Original British WWI Era Glass Beer Bottle found in Western Front Trench near Ypres Belgium

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This lovely green glass beer bottle was dug up from a World War One Trench in May of 1983 in the grounds of Hooge Chateau (Castle) at Ypres. This area was the scene of very fierce fighting during a long campaign of WWI. This lovely original bottle made of substantial green molded glass bears the name of the Brewery:-

THE NOTTINGHAM BREWERY
NOTTINGHAM

This bottle was acquired some time ago along with another Bottle (long since sold), which had a white paper adhered to the back body of the bottle stating how and when the two were discovered in 1983, during drainage excavation works near the Chateau. The bottle stands 8 inches tall, and unfortunately the original screw stopper is missing.

In fine order, not a chip, only a few bubbles in the cast glass from manufacture, truly amazing. Fine original WW1 bottle from the front line trenches. Yesterday's trash is today another man's treasure! Cleaned and ready to display.
