Item Description

Original Item: One of a Kind. This is a quality item and so typically English. An Officer's Cane or Swagger stick measuring 34" in overall length. It is made of high quality wood, which has been beautifully carved in spirals with a marvelous DOG'S HEAD handle. It looks to be a Grey Hound, with amber glass eyes and an alert expression. Around its neck is an engraved Silver band stating:-

Other than his rank, name, and branch (Royal Engineers), we know nothing of Captain Bell, so there is plenty of research to to be done here. A truly remarkable item, one only hopes Captain Bell returned safely after the War to his faithful friend who never left his side. Ready to display and research!
