Original British WWI Canadian Vickers MMG Oil Can in Leather Carrier - Dated 1918

Original Item: Only One available. This is a very nice large size oil can for use with the Vickers Medium Machine Gun. The can is constructed of plated steel with a brass screw filler cap in the middle, and a brass oiling nozzle on the corner. Both caps still retain their retainer chains. The can measures approximately 7" x 5" x 3 3/4", for a capacity of approximately 3 pints. It is encased in a very nice leather carrier, which is marked and dated on the side under the top strap:

The strap is in good shape with a functional buckle. The WWI examples are much more difficult to find than the WWII examples.
