Original British / Welsh Montgomeryshire Yeomanry 1880 Cavaltry Trooper's Helmet with White Plume

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Yeomanry units were usually raised at times of Crisis. This Regiment was first raised in 1803 for the Napoleonic Wars when fear from invasion dominated England. It was then disbanded in 1828 when the danger was long passed. Later re-established in the Victorian era it was actually shipped out to South Africa for the BOER WAR in 1899 and returned in 1902. It later served in the First World War.

This is a fine example of the 1880 Trooper's helmet made of silvered white metal, with all silvered mounts, the helmet plate showing a "Griffin" devise. Retaining its leather lining and silvered chin chain it sports a White Horse hair plume to its top mount.

A rare Yeomanry Cavalry Regiment to find, in really fine Condition, ready to display!
