Original British Victorian Officer Bicorn Fore-and-Aft Hat - Circa 1890

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a rare Victorian era British Cocked Fore-and-Aft hat. It is finely decorated with silver and gilt bullion wire thread acorn and oak leaf pattern ribbon to the front with a fine silver Queens Crown Victorian button. Each end has gilt wire tassel with maroon wool base. The interior features a wide leather sweatband in excellent condition, white silk pleated lining that appears to have been repaired with glue in some areas, but is overall in nice condition. Typically these hats would feature a feather plume, this example does have the leather inner pocket for the plume but alas no plume itself. Overall condition is very good and in an approximate size US & 1/4 (58cm).
