  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a tremendous example of a Victorian-Era Cavalry Officer’s sword by Hamburger, Rogers & Company with its original scabbard. The blade is clearly marked and has a fabulous etching of the British Crown. The sharkskin covered wooden grip has lost some of the denticles, but it is in good overall shape with the wire wrapping well retained.

The sword measures 42¼” overall, with a blade length of 35¼”, and a scabbard length of 36¼”. It is marked on the ricasso

    30 KING ST.
    COV’NT GARDEN
    LONDON

The other side of the ricasso has a small gold-colored insert that reads PROVED. The blade is finely etched and features the British Crown on both sides and is in good overall condition with some staining. The buff leather washer is still present, often missing on swords of this period. The scabbard is in good shape and retains its two hanging rings. The brass scabbard dates this sword to the 1870’s.

A wonderful & genuine Cavalry Officer’s sword in good shape, ready for further research and display.
