  • Original Item: Only One Available. Advancing with the Industrial Revolution, Naval Battery fire was greatly assisted by these brass sighting scopes, which were sometimes even mounted directly to the barrel of the large caliber Cannon for a Gunner to sight with. On an adjustable mount, this scope could be adjusted for range to target in on the desired prey before discharging the main projectile.

This example, measuring 16 1/2 " long, is totally unmarked but retains its original mounts on arced feet that were mounted on the actual Gun Barrel. The eyepiece adjusts and the circular bracket around the scopes brass body has adjustment screws to zero in on the target. Still gives a good image being probably 150 years old.

Needs a good clean then ready to display.
