  • Original item. Only One Available. The English Bobby was always famed for never carrying a firearm, only a wooden truncheon, however in Victorian England Bobbies actually carried short short bladed, Naval type Cutlasses.

This example comes with its original ray skin wire bound wrapped grip and brass D guard and mounts. The blade is 21 1/2" long and has not been shortened. The blade once held a locking catch to prevent accidental withdrawal from the scabbard, which was officially removed. The cutouts in the blade and scabbard still remain however. The "D" guard is engraved CHATHAM PRISON and also still retains the original Manufacturer's name:-

PARKER FIELD & SONS | LONDON

It comes with its original brass mounted leather scabbard and is in very presentable condition, ready to display.
