Original British U.S. Civil War Era 1850s Large Dixon Sheffield Brass Powder Flask

Item Description

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a gorgeous Civil War Era powder flask featuring a decorative pattern on the exterior. The flask was made by James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield, one of the major British manufacturers of the Industrial Revolution.

The flask measures approximately 11” long, one of the larger examples we have seen. The cap still screws on and off without issue, and the spout functions as intended. There is no powder remaining in the flask. There is a bar through the bottom half with pieces on each end for a carrying strap, but one end has broken off. There’s also an English Registry marking on both sides as shown. This example dates to the Civil War period. A very beautiful flask that will fit well into any Civil War or 19th Century firearm collection!
