Original British Tower-Marked Police Percussion Horse Pistol in Saddle Holster circa 1835-40

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Things like this only come along with the death of a die hard Collector, and such is the case here. This is a proper old series percussion lock Horse Pistol in .75" musket bore, which would knock over any evil doer.

It dates from 1835 to 1840, very very early for the British Police force. The Lock, which looks like it was converted from Flintlock, is in fact manufactured in this style and has always been percussion. It is marked with CROWN over TOWER. The 9 1/2" heavy barrel is engraved :

This very substantial pistols measures 16" in overall length. The pistol is contained in its ORIGINAL leather Saddle Holster which was traditionally mounted on the right side of the Horse's head for instant access. The holster in heavy brown leather is in original just perfect condition and features three suspension loops to the rear together with it's rack number of B6 which is also engraved on the right hand of the pistol's brass butt cap. This is an absolute must for any early Law Enforcement collector.

In wonderful condition and ready to display.
