This body line has a square round cord with a swivel clip on the end. Offered in very good to excellent condition. Size US 7 1/4 (58cm). The busy has a tall red plume / hackle on the front, but for RHA a white plume is typical. Another example of this style busby can be found in the collection of the Imperial War Museum at this link.

"Busby" is the English name for the Hungarian prémes csákó ("fur shako") or kucsma, a military head-dress made of fur, originally worn by Hungarian hussars. In its original Hungarian form the busby was a cylindrical fur cap, having a bag of colored cloth hanging from the top. The end of this bag was attached to the right shoulder as a defense against sabre cuts.
