Original Item: One-of-a-kind. This is an old tin transit chest for an officer's helmet and accouterments. It bears a brass plate engraved:
ROYAL DRAGOONS
It also has part of a swing label that reads:
The Royals
Side of the chest is painted:
Military Records show that Colonel F.W. Wilson Fitzgerald held command of the Royal Dragoons from 1935-1939.
So, here is an official regimental transit chest named to a Colonel of The Royal Dragoons having been "released" by the regimental museum at some point in the past.
