Original British Recent Issue Rose Top EIIR marked London Metropolitan Police Bobby Helmet

Item Description

Original Item: One Only. The Traditional Bobby helmet was named after the creator of the British Police Force, SIR ROBERT PEEL, who became Prime Minister under Queen Victoria. This early version, known as a "Rose Top," features a plated top fitting, in the shape of a rose, hence the name. The front Helmet plate has a Queens's Crown to top, over a star burst containing a silver E II R Royal Cypher, for Queen Elizabeth II, who has reigned since 1952. There is a circle around the cypher which reads METROPOLITAN / POLICE.

This is definitely a very recent issue, probably from the last 25 years, and has a faux leather liner, adjustable in the back by a hook and loop closure. The chin strap is present, and in great shape, still shiny and supple. The exterior dark blue felt covering is in very good condition, almost complete with just a few small moth nips.

Completely authentic current issue, from the London Police force known as THE MET. In very good condition, ready to display!
