Original British Pre WWI P-1903 5 Pocket Leather Bandolier
Original Item: Designated "Bandoliers for Mounted Cavalry P-1903" this is a brown leather bandolier with five leather pockets, each designed to carry two 5 round stripper clips of .303 cal. Ammunition. Though developed a decade before The Great War, they saw much use during the conflict, and were in use after as well.
This example most likely came as surplus out of South Africa decades ago, but is still in good condition, especially considering the overall age of around a century. The leather is worn, and has faded to a wonderful russet color, but has very little cracking. The inner securing straps are all still present, though one pocket has lost the brass stud, all other brass studs are present. Also the belt tie down strap is broken off.
Otherwise, in solid condition, and a great addition to any WW1 British collection.
