  • Original Item: Only One Available. A Karakul hat, sometimes spelled as Qaraqul hat, also called Uzbek hat and Jinnah Cap. It is a hat made from the fur of the Qaraqul breed of sheep. Karakul is directly translated as black fur in the Uzbek language and the hat originally comes from Bukhara. The fur from which it is made is referred to as Astrakhan, broadtail, qaraqulcha, or Persian lamb. The hat is peaked, and folds flat when taken off of the wearer's head.

The head-dress of the rifle regiments is an astrakhan cap with plume (red and black, K.R.R.; dark green and black, K.I.R.; black, Rifle Brigade), with this one being the correct black over red. The cockade on the front features the crowned hunting horn of Rifle Regiments.

The condition is quite nice with a solid leather sweatband. The sweatband does have cracking and slight stitch loss but is otherwise in very nice condition. The chinstrap is present but is unfortunately broken and really stiff.

Comes more than ready for further research and display.
