Original British P-1804 Naval Cutlass with Figure Eight Guard and Ribbed Grip

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Item Available. The blade is marked H.M.S. VICTORY and we will be the first to tell you that cutlasses were never marked like this on the blade. They were kept in racks without scabbard for anyone to use.

This is a fine totally original example of the Trafalgar period seaman's cutlass, the blade having been stamped with an acceptance mark under a Crown. It is totally authentic and original, blade length 28-inches, overall length 32.5-inches.

The H.M.S.VICTORY stamped on the blade is not an attempt to deceive; it was punched there during the 20th century when it was issued for display purposes on the still existing H.M.S. Victory currently in dry dock, still a serving Naval vessel, in Portsmouth, England.

Once allocated from Naval stores it was stamped with its required destination perhaps for ultimate return. The British just love paperwork!

Nevertheless chances are your neighbors won't know, so with this original P-1804 Naval Cutlass comes the associated bragging rights of having a cutlass used on the greatest ship in the greatest sea battle that ever took place according to an Englishman (at no extra charge).
