Original Item: One-of-a-Kind. Horn drinking vessels were common in the Royal Navy. This example has been scrimshawed by some sailor as his own with a magnificent “Sea Monster” impaled on an anchor under G R. There are flags behind the beast, with the left bearing a small banner on the top reading TRAFALGAR, a tribute to Lord Nelson’s greatest triumph.
The beaker measures 4" tall and 2 1/2" wide at the rim. Carving such objects passed the endless days of boredom while at sea. Most attractive and ready to display!
