Original Item: One of a kind. This is a fantastic British model field gun from the Georgian Era, probably produced about 1820. It features brass cannon barrel measuring 11 1/4", mounted on its 18th century style split trail field carriage, all in brass, with iron axles. It measures 16 1/4" overall length and hub to hub 11 1/2" in width with elevating gear. Complete with 9" tall spoked walnut wheels, eight spokes to a wheel.
This a Pre-Victorian exhibition piece, ideal for a desk display. We do not know whether it was made with the intention of ever being fired. The separate ramrod is unfortunately absent, but the correct hook mounts are present on the left side of the carriage.
Most impressive and very eye catching. Substantial and heavily made!
