  • Original Item: Only One Available. This London Gun maker "SHARPE" was in business from 1800 until 1840. Initially he contracted with the Hudson Bay Company to supply these good quality Flintlock pistols that were traded to the Indigenous Red Indians in exchange for FUR PELTS that were eagerly desired in the European Fashion Trade.

This pistol has an iron almost 8" barrel marked SHARPE / EXTRA / PROOF and is fully brass mounted. It also bears two proof marks, including the definitive Birmingham Black Powder Proof. The Lock Plate is also stamped SHARPE and the pistol comes with its brass tipped wooden ram rod.

In fine working order and condition, ready to display, one wonders how many of these Trade Pistols were turned against the British in the War of 1812.
