Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is truly neat. With only a 17.5-inch original length barrel in approximately .65 bore, this carbine features a trapped swivel ramrod. Just over 33-inches in overall length this retains the original saddle bar and floating ring for attachment to a body sling hook so the weapon could be aimed and discharged with only one hand while mounted on horseback.
The iron barrel bears correct English proof marks and the EIC Heart motif with "MOORE 1798". The lock bears the same markings and date. The butt is heavily stamped (branded) with "7/19" presumably a unit number. All brass mounts, the butt tang again bearing the East India Company heart motif under the letter "B". Offered fully cleaned and in nice tight condition ready to display. Very Rare.
