Original Items: Only One Lot of Three Available. This is an interesting group of three Indian and Nepalese-style kukris representing different levels of military, private-purchase, and decorative manufacture. All three retain leather scabbards, and two retain their traditional small accessory implements. The group includes one ornate decorated kukri, one large INDIA-marked Mk II-style example, and one medium-sized kukri marked ARMY TRADERS “SUPER”. While all three are broadly compatible with the British Indian and Commonwealth kukri tradition, the available markings do not support identifying every example as a definitively WWII-issued military kukri.

The kukri, or khukuri, is a traditional forward-curving knife associated particularly with Nepal and the Gurkhas. Long established as both a practical cutting tool and weapon, it became closely associated with Gurkha units serving in the British Indian Army and later British Army.

Military kukris existed alongside a much larger population of privately purchased and commercially produced examples. Specialist research notes that Gurkha soldiers used both standardized issue-pattern kukris and privately obtained traditional knives, particularly during WWI and WWII.

The knives are all in lovely condition and vary in country of origin, era and sizes. The kukris all have their small chakmak and karda knives still in the sleeves on the back of the scabbards.

They include:

- One ornately decorated kukri and scabbard with gems and jewels across scabbard body. This set contains the two smaller knives stored in the scabbard. There is patterning across the blade. Heavy edge nicking. 13 ½” overall.
- Large Mk II style Kukri, no markings with hard leather scabbard. Has slots for smaller knives but they are gone. 16 ½” overall. Marked INDIA on blade.
- Medium Mk II style Kukri, marked ARMY TRADERS “SUPER” on blade, good research project. Scabbard in good order. 15 ¾” overall.

As a group, these three knives provide an excellent comparison between decorative traditional kukri manufacture, military-pattern Indian construction, and a potentially wartime-associated Army Traders example. Their differences in size, scabbard construction, blade treatment, and markings make the lot particularly useful for a collection devoted to Gurkha equipment, British Indian edged weapons, or the broader history of the kukri in military and civilian use.
