Original British Comb Top Bobby Helmet from the West Midlands Police in size 59cm c.1990
Original Item: Only One Available. The Traditional Bobby helmet was named after the creator of the British Police Force, SIR ROBERT PEEL, who became Prime Minister under Queen Victoria. This version, known as a "Comb Top", replaced the earlier "ball top" and "rose top" helmets used in many areas. The pattern features a pronounced ridge on the top of the helmet, which is capped off by a silvered fitting some simple designs.
The front Helmet plate has a "Queens's Crown" to top, over a star burst, with WEST MIDLANDS / POLICE in an enameled circle. In the center is the E II R monogram of Queen Elizabeth II, the current reigning Queen of the United Kingdom.
The helmet interior is rigged with its Riot Gear liner with web chin strap, retaining it's Riot Chin "Cup." The Helmet also is fitted with i's everyday patent leather chin strap as well. The original label is still present, but the information has worn away. We can just make out that this is a size 59 helmet.
