  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is an extremely well made ALL BRASS framed flintlock pocket pistol by one of Britain's best known makers, HENRY NOCK of LONDON, as marked on the side plates. The weapon measures just 6 1/2" in overall length with a screw off smooth bored brass barrel of just 2" in length. There is a small unmarked silver escutcheon on the back of the grip, and it also features a half-cock safety. Along the top of the barrel is engraved/stamped:

FOR HIS MAJESTY'S PRISON HULKS. DEPTFORD.

Bearing London proofs and maker's name this clearly a Government Contract to provide arms to the Prison Service manning the Prison Hulks mostly containing French Prisoners of War, out of harm's way in the Thames Estuary. Soon after this time Great Britain started deporting Convicts to the new Colony of BOTANY BAY in what we now know as Australia.

A Rare and attractive Flintlock pistol, inscribed and ready to display.
