Item Description
Original Item. Only One Available. This is a lovely example of a British military bass drum. This example likely dates between the Victorian Era and the First World War.
The drum retains its original skinheads, although the bottom skin is torn through. It retains its ropes, rims, and blancoed buff leather tugs. The drum measures 28" across and is 17" tall. Despite the tear across the bottom skin, it still presents well when sitting on that side.
The drum is overall very solid and nice with no restoration to the paint. There is no regimental or unit designation painted anywhere on the drum, and the paint is all original. The top rim of the drum appears to be off-center and is not flush with the ends of the skins, but this shouldn’t be much of an issue.
A lovely drum from the Victorian era, ready for further research and display.
