Original British 18th Century Queen Anne Doglock Silver Mounted Pistol by John Hall of London

Item Description

Original Item: Only one available. This is very rare and very early, marked on the barrel I.H., the makers mark of JOHN HALL of LONDON who started business in 1707 and continued from a shop in London for several generations until 1770. The 7 inch long slightly swamped barrel is also marked LONDON on the top, and bears the CROWN / CP black powder and CROWN / V viewing proof marks on the left hand side.

The iron lock plate is somewhat decorated with engraving, with a typical Queen Anne Era flat Dog lock hammer with catch behind, that acts as a safety measure. The pistol has an iron trigger guard and front plate, with nothing under the barrel, just a ramrod pipe. The walnut stock is quite nice, with lots of grain and curl. The pistol is fitted with a SILVER ram rod pipe, side plate, grotesque masked butt Cap, and Hallmarked engraved Escutcheon. Comes complete with its original silver tipped wooden Ram Rod still in place.

A truly lovely early pistol in fine Collector's condition ready to display!
