Original Belgian Percussion Pocket Pistol Retailed by B.S. Clarck of London - Circa 1840/50

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This little pistol is in just lovely condition, having come from a Collection amassed in the 1950's and 1960's and then remained in storage ever since. It features a hidden folding trigger, which only appears once the pistol is cocked, and has an overall length of 8 inches. There is also a half-cock safety behind the hammer. It has a wood grip, which is beautifully checkered, and has a diamond escutcheon on the belnd of the grip. The grip bottom is bound with a silver ferrule around the bottom, and has a silver escutcheon on the base. The the octagonal screw-off barrel is 3 1/8 inches long, and has a .50" smooth bore for close up use.

The action bears some nice leaf engraving and on the left side of the frame there is an E.L.G. in an oval, indicating it was originally manufactured in Liège, Belgium
for the London Victorian market. The sides of the action are marked B.S. CLARCK and LONDON, indicating the store that it was made for. Style indicates manufacture circa 1840/1850.

In just wonderful condition and most attractive, ready to display.
