Original Belgian-made Nickel-Plated 11mm Revolver from Montenegro with Liége Proofs - c.1885

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a massive revolver with polished horn grips, used principally by the Mountain people of Montenegro, who at that time were considered Bandits. It is in a massive 11 mm caliber, as large as an Infantry rifle of the day. This Montegnegran style revolver is covered in line engraving on the cylinder and frame and was Nickel plated, much of which remains after well over 130 years. Multiple Makers and other markings on the frame this was a revolver for a large individual. The barrel trunion is marked:

[MO]NTENEGR[O]
GUSS STAHL
PATENT
EXTRA QUALITE

There is also a SCHUTZ MARKE under the cylinder. It bears serial number 260234 on the cylinder and the frame, as well as Patent and trademarks. The rear of the cylinder is marked with the E. / L.G./ * in an oval under a crown, the mark of Liége.

Dating to the latter 19th century about 1875-1885 in splendid condition, complete with the often missing ejector rod, and a functional loading/ejection gate. Seems to be fully functional, but like any antique revolver it can be finicky. Does require a strong trigger pull in double action.

Fully cleaned and ready to display!
