  • Original Item: Only One Available. Imported in great quantities in the 1880's and 1890's were these Belgian made Double Barrel Shoguns, used all over the American West. However in this case the barrel length has been reduced to a tad under 20". This was most likely for Coach or Railway Use, and carried during the Industrial strife of the period.

The standard top lever pushes to the side, opening the chambers for reloading. The barrel strap is marked No 2112 LAMINATED STEEL BELGIUM. The locks however are totally unmarked, so this may be a gun that was imported by a smaller operation, and sold as received. Most retailers would have added their name to the lock plates and elsewhere.

Removing the forestock allows the barrels to be removed from the receiver, showing serial number 21741 on the barrels, receiver, and forestock. This also reveals the markings on the barrel underside of both the "Tower of Liège" proof mark as well as E / L G / * in an oval, indicating manufacture and inspection in Liège, Belgium. One barrel is marked on the bottom 18.0, which corresponds to 13 gauge, which in the late 19th century was actually a relatively popular cartridge, even into the early 20th century.

In presentable condition one hammer spring appears absent or disconnected, and the other side is missing the firing pin extension.  However it is still in fine Display Condition!
