This is a great likely USGI Bring back set of medals from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, one of the nations created when the Holy Roman Empire was dissolved in 1806. It is a country with a long history full of memorable personalities, and with those came an equal number of medals and orders awarded for military and civic achievements. We assume that these medals were brought home during the post WWII period.
The medals include:
- Hungarian Military Merit Medal "Signum Laudis", with swivel crown, Bronze Class.
- Hungarian Military Merit Medal "Signum Laudis", with swivel crown, Silver Class.
- Medal for Bravery (Austria-Hungary) with normal ribbon.
- Medal for Bravery (Austria-Hungary) with medal bar style ribbon in different color organization.
- Ver Dienst Military Merit Medal with crossed swords device.
