Original Item. Only One Available. This is an outstanding preserved example of an Austro-Hungarian Enlisted man’s waistbelt with original brass buckle. These belts are incredibly difficult to find intact, as you only ever really see the buckles in ground dug condition. This example came to us from the collection of David F. Machnicki, the author of At Arm's Length Trench Clubs and Knives.
The belt’s leather is still very pliable, with heavy verdigris on the metal fittings. The belt and buckle measure roughly 41 ½” when laid out. There are no markings on the belt we could find. The buckle pieces still close correctly.
A very rare example, ready for display.
